Sandhill Cranes

We’ll find out what some big white and wild birds have in common with vegetable soup.

Hi friends, welcome to the Wild Side… I’m Steve Hall

Many of us love having visitors to Tennessee…

We’re proud of the volunteer state and enjoy showing it off to visitors from beyond our borders.

And it’s not just because of country music in Nashville… the blues in Memphis… and the mountains of East Tennessee.

Some people… and even other living beings… are drawn to the smallest of places… like the community just northeast of Chattanooga… Birchwood, Tennessee.

We mentioned that school buses shuttle visitors back and forth from the community center to the refuge during the two-day Sandhill Crane Festival.

The shuttle also maks stops at the nearby Cherokee Removal Monument Park… which is a partner with BASIC and TWRA in the annual Sandhill Crane event.
