Wildwood Sycamore Tree

See how a horse stable is connected to a big tree that on the surface seems out of place.

The Standing Tall Life Skills Program at Wildwood Stables in Crossville actually got its name from the tree that stands in the center of the property.

The massive sycamore, designated as one of the state’s most famous trees, just happens to be the second largest of its kind in Tennessee.

The property is now part of the Fairfield Glades Resort but once belonged to the family of Cumberland County’s very first school superintendent, Thomas Clark Center.
