Nearly half a century ago… during America’s Apollo moon missions, an astronaut decided to conduct an experiment related to trees. While his two colleagues were actually walking on the moon… Astronaut Stuart Roosa was orbiting the lunar surface along with tree seeds he had planted to study the impact of space on germination.
The seedlings were later shared around the country and became known as the moon trees.. Four of them came to Tennessee… for a future of living, dying and cloning.
The seeds orbited the moon but did not make contact with the surface.
