POW WOW at Long Hunter State Park

Native Americans from across the country come to share their traditions and history.

Who knew that the violin was considered a traditional Native American Instrument? That’s one of the wonderful things school children learned on their special day at Long Hunter State Park’s annual Pow Wow. Native Americans share their story and their history hoping to teach those children history from their perspective. The weekend continues with traditional dancing, storytelling, and a ceremony to crown the new princess.
