You don’ have to travel outside of Tennessee to experience wildlife from around the world. And there are ways to go on an outdoor adventure without actually being outside. In a state where it can feel like summer one day and winter the next, the Tennessee Aquarium’s butterfly exhibit keeps a perfectly balanced tropical atmosphere all year round.
Although visitors are encouraged to plant butterfly gardens at home, the exotic butterflies kept inside the aquarium are not allowed to produce. In fact, the United States Department of Agriculture closely regulates the butterflies to make sure they don’t get out into the environment where they could damage native plants.
