It’s an old saying often used at the end of a lost argument, although no one ever really takes it seriously. “Why don’t you go jump in a lake…” Well they took it seriously on a cold day in Nashville, where hundreds of people literally jumped in the lake. Why did they do it? Wild Side Guide Terry Bulger has the answer, along with a perfect view…from the shore.
The event broke records for most participants and most money raised in the 11 year history of Polar Plunging at Percy Priest Lake. Over 300 people made the jump, raising more than 81-thousand dollars for Special Olympics programs that take place throughout the year. The Nashville event is just one of many held across Tennessee every year. You can learn more about “Freezin’ for a Reason” at the Special Olympics Polar Bear Plunge website, polarplungetn.com.
