Tennessee Farming and Conservation Collaboration

Farmers may struggle to make money but they can do it without hurting the environment.

Hi Friends… Welcome to the Wild Side… I’m Steve Hall…

We talk a lot about natural resources here on Wild Side… water, air, and wildlife.  But what about the soil where we plant much of the food we eat?

Farmers are considered the original stewards of the land… and as you’re about to see… some farmers in West Tennessee have recognized the need to not only enrich the soil… but do it in a way that improves the quality of our water.

And they’re getting some help from The Nature Conservancy to make some critical changes in their farming practices.

The Nature Conservancy is also approaching corporations that buy and distribute farm products… requesting preferential treatment for farmers working with them to enrich the soil… and protect our water.
