Duck Population Concerns

A national wildlife refuge where there is some worry about the waterfowl.

While the future seems bright for the mighty bald eagle… some people are starting to worry about waterfowl.

Drought conditions in what’s called the “prairie pothole region” are getting some of the blame.

That’s an area in the Northern Great Plains with thousands of shallow wetlands, which are ideal breeding grounds for ducks.

And of course… the impact on their population is expected to travel South.
