Chestnut Mountain

Chestnut Mountain is an example of what can happen when Bridgestone Americas and The Nature Conservancy team up for an investment in nature.

When a massive manufacturer owns a huge chunk of wilderness, there’s usually not a lot of mystery about what happens next.  Bulldozers move in… wildlife moves out… landscapes of lush greenery are replaced with acres of concrete, steel and smokestacks.

And that’s progress, especially in communities desperate for jobs.

But property bought years ago by Bridgestone Americas has a much different story-line than what you might expect from a corporation.  What the company has done along with the Nature Conservancy is not only good for the economy … but for lasting land preservation.
