Ash Tree Deaths Henry Horton State Park

We're taking you into the midst of a losing battle where chainsaws have become the weapon of choice.

Hi friends, welcome to the Wild Side… I’m Steve Hall

There’s a war going on in our woods, and at this point the enemy is winning.

Many of our Tennesse trees are fallen soldiers to foreign invaders. There’s very little hope for victory, as we visit one of the many battlegrounds…. at Henry Horton State Park.

The sawmill equipment was purchased with donations to the park.

The Emerald Ash Borer is not really a threat to the Ash Trees in its native Asian lands.

Some scientists believe the best hope for future Ash Trees in North America may be the development of a species that is resistant to the invaders.
