American Woodcocks

Go with us as we search for an elusive dancing shore bird.

Just like many other things in life, Wild Side stories don’t always turn out to be what we plan or expect.

We knew it would be a shot in the dark when we went out to watch for the dramatic dance of American Woodcocks.

Things didn’t go as we hoped… but it was far more entertaining that we might have imagined.

We would love to see an actual American Woodcock make all those motions and sounds demonstrated by Ranger Rawlings.

So, we hope to go back and give it another try sometime in the future.
