Tusculum Tree

Neath oaks that have so long stood watching O halls of our college yet stand afar in the distant horizon The Smokeys rise lofty and grand with beauties of nature surrounded a century’s memories thine.

At first glance it looks like a typical college campus.  But, ask anyone about the old oak tree and they can give you directions to one of the oldest trees in the state of Tennessee.  The Tusculum tree, which is on the Urban Forestry Historic Tree Registry, stands as testament to a time… past, present, and future… where change may come and go, but the roots under Tusculum College stay the same.  Based on the rings and the circumference of the tree it is estimated to be about 280 years old.
