Outdoor Classrooms

Wild Side Guide Eve Annunziato shows us how teachers are learning to move their classes outdoors.

Show 2505:

All of us can remember those days of being stuck behind a desk in class, watching the clock and waiting for school to be out. Today, a growing number of students across the state are finding out just how much fun school can really be. That’s because teachers are discovering there is no substitute for hands-on learning in the greatest classroom of all—the natural world. Wild Side Guide Eve Annunziato shows us how teachers are learning to move their classes outdoors.

Already teachers are reporting increased interest and participation by those students involved in learning in the natural world. For a look at outdoor classrooms in action, check out this Wild Side story from St. Ann School in Bartlett TN.
