Hunters for the Hungry

Hunters for the Hungry is helping to fill empty stomachs of homeless people and families facing financial difficulties, too.

For deer hunters celebrating their success in the woods, there’s something you can do that will make you feel even better about your conquests. Give your deer away! That’s right, you can help feed as many as 160 people just by donating one doe to the Hunters for the Hungry program.

Wild Side Guide Steve Hall shows the effort of the Tennessee Wildlife Federation and the TWRA to help fill empty stomachs not only of homeless people, but of families facing financial difficulties, too. You don’t have to be a hunter to help support this worthy program. The TWF is always in need of volunteers and cash donations for Hunters for the Hungry.

Visit their website to learn how you can get involved. Tennessee hunters have donated more than 3.7 million meals since the program got started almost 15 years ago. Hunters can donate all or a portion of their harvested deer at processing. One donated deer averages around 40 pounds meat…that equals about 160 meals for hungry people.
