Fall Creek Falls Fishing

Most folks know Fall Creek Falls State Park as a place of scenic beauty…especially the waterfall that is the park’s namesake. But ask most anglers and they’ll tell you about the park’s lake, filled with up to 60 feet of clear, cold water and home to two state record catches, a channel catfish weighing 41 lbs. and a bluegill weighing 3 lbs. It’s the kind of place Wild Side Guide Joey Monteleone just couldn’t resist.

If you want to follow Joey’s lead and give Fall Creek Falls Lake a try, you can rent canoes, kayaks, pedal boats and john boats there…but remember to bring your own trolling motor and battery. No gas motors are allowed on the 345 acre lake, which has lots of bank fishing opportunities as well, most notably on either side of the dam, around the inn and the the “fishermen cabins” located directly on the lake.
